What Is the Holy Spirit?

Also known as the Holy Ghost, is a divine force, quality, and influence of God over the universe and its creatures. The Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit include the following:

  • Wisdom
  • Understanding
  • Counsel
  • Fortitude
  • Knowledge
  • Piety
  • Fear of the Lord

For some Christians, these are a definitive list of specific attributes. While other Christians understand them as examples of the Holy Spirit’s work through the faithful.
